Behind the Scenes

Meet our stars of the future…..

…It doesn’t get more exciting than this. Sitting at the Bishop’s Stortford Rugby Club on a chilly day in July, Apatchy caught up with the two talented rugby players; Exeter University player James McRae, and England U20’s tri scorer, world cup winner Max Malins.

Before a jam-packed day that entailed a photo shoot and grilling interview for both boys, it was brilliant to see how much excitement was generated by our brand new sports collection that was sat at their feet. Whilst Max was extremely excited about the Personalised Sports Bag and Apatchy Rugby Ball, James was eyeing up the brand new Personalised Back Pack with its padded laptop pocket, as the smart answer to lugging around University books.

Our photographer for the day was up and coming photographer Harry Kingham, who is about to embark on a philanthropic adventure that documents the lives of people from Rohtak, Delhi and Jaipur. This is the first photo-journalist project that Harry will be involved with, and with his great ability to capture in a single shot a whole world of persona, we cannot wait for him to reveal the stories of a number of children that have benefitted from the charity that he is working with.

Harry got into photography as a third year student of Arts in Leeds. After rummaging in his Grandparents’ loft one mundane afternoon, he became mesmerised by an old medium format camera…

‘A couple of weeks later I went to the camera shop in the Leeds Corn Exchange, bought a roll of 120mm film and took portraits of people in the street. I went straight to the studio, and developed the film myself. Once the images came out on the roll of film, I was blown away. I was asked to exhibit three of the images on that first roll of film, its been a love of mine ever since.’

Our sports collection is set to be launched at the beginning of September, to not only capture the back to school rush but also in time for the Christmas inspiration list.

We are not only rugby focused, and are extremely excited to release a smart and practical hockey stick bag, which we shot with Harry at Haileybury School.

Browse through the photos of the day to not only catch a glance at the stunning new collection, but to also see the behind the scenes fun!
