Solar Charging and the Apatchy Gripper System

There are three ways to charge up your Powapatch™

  1. Mains (if going abroad use an adaptor plug with the UK Mains Plug)
  2. USB Port on your computer
  3. Solar

 

Solar Power Charging can occur in direct sunlight or even under electric light. However, the amount of energy (mAh) that goes into the Powapatch™ internal battery is governed by the intensity of the sun (UV) - so power provided by electric light is very minimal.

For maximum efficiency from your solar panel place your Powapatch™ at an angle of 70 degrees towards the sun. The angle of placement is critical; placing it flat to the ground reduces the efficiency by up to 50%. Vertical is considerably more efficient than horizontal.

In sunny conditions the solar panel will still be actively charging the Powapatch™ internal battery at the same time as power is being taken out by your device.

Optimising solar charge

There are three ways of securing your Powapatch™ to optimise this solar charge:

  1. Lanyard - The Powapatch™ is fitted with a strong lanyard that can be looped through the strap of a bag or belt loop of your jeans. It is vital that the solar side is out and facing the sun to maximise the charge.
  2. Apatchy bag owners - The Powapatch™ can be gripped onto any Apatchy bag. The lanyard can also be looped through the 'D' ring on all Apatchy bags to provide additional security.

  3. Gripper System - The Gripper System will allow for gripping the Powapatch™ to your golf clubs or tent or car dashboard etc.
